HE IS TOO JEALOUS OVER YOU

Penulis : Unknown on Friday, November 8, 2013 | 5:05 AM

Friday, November 8, 2013

The word "jealousy" could mean many things like the fear of being displaced by someone else in a relationship, apprehensive of losing affection or position or envying another's success. But it also means being vigilant in guarding something you love and cherish, being possessive and watchful in protecting that which you love. In many relationships, when someone gets jealous over you it shows that they actually value you, it shows that your presence in their life means a lot to them and for that reason they do not want to lose you to another. But sometimes jealousy transforms into being possessive which goes beyond just being in love with the person. The possessiveness causes the person to watch you, monitor you, and in some cases even hire someone to follow you everywhere you go so they can keep tabs on your every move.

So I met this guy some years ago; I had known him from childhood. My parents took me to his house every Sunday but I never really paid attention to him until I was in my early 20s. He was so sweet, big, strong and amazing; he kept asking to take our friendship to the next level but I always had a dodgy answer every time. We were friends already, we chat once in a while so I wanted to keep things as "just friends" aka the friend zone. I never gave a straight forward answer, sometimes I'll lead him on and then turn around and hurt him just to see if he'll reduce his proposal but he never stopped. So one day, a friend talked me into trying to give him a chance; I reluctantly and grudgingly accepted to go on a date. Just one date and I was sprung - hook, line and sinker. I knew this was love but it was a different kind of feeling cos it was not just butterflies in my stomach, it was more like electric waves running through my veins. He held my hands, pulled me into his warm embrace and I felt just like a baby wrapped in the arms of love. Oh...please don't think this was another player trying to use sweet words on me; he was different, gentle as a dove and in his presence I felt a peace I had never felt before. I felt protected. After this date, a lot of things changed about me because he brought out the best in me, helped me excel in my academics, showed me the path of life, the true meaning of success and pointed me in the direction for a purpose driven life. He was all I ever needed and asked for. Simply amazing...

But somehow, someday...I felt the weight of the world on my shoulders and felt so burdened that I lost track of his love. No, it wasn't him-it was me. I started feeling like I didn't need him that much, felt like there was something I was missing. I just thought I needed a break for a while so I stopped calling him as often as I should have and reduced the communication. As loving as he was he never left; he still stayed and tried to persuade me to stay but I was blinded by the world and my blurred vision of his love. In the end he moved aside and just watched me walk away; but he never left. He hired a guardian angel to walk with me every step I take, to monitor every move I make and to make sure I don't fall by the way side. He watched me make some mistakes so I could learn from them, he watched me fail sometimes so I could rise again; he watched me go through some pain so I could become stronger... he just stood one place and all he did was watch and make sure no harm came to me. At some point in my life, I looked back and remembered his love... I knew it was naturally impossible for him to take me back after I had been with other guys who loved me less but I just thought I should try. I went back with tears in my eyes and he took me back. What an unconditional love...

God's love is unconditional and he is soooooo jealous over you that he just can't imagine you with someone else. He is that possessive and will do anything to fight for you even when you act like you don't need him. He will not force his love on you but will be watchful over you, guarding you through life's troubles and heartaches. He loved you so much that he gave up the most precious gift he had just to have your love. Can you not feel it? Don't let the cares of this world burden you, don't let your heart get worried/weary; just cast all your cares on him cos he cares. His jealousy makes him do crazy things for you - remember David & Goliath? It was humanly impossible for a little boy to defeat a giant but I tell people - even if it's something that God had never done before for anyone, He'll do it for me if I need it. David defeating Goliath was the first of its kind ever... it sounds cliche' but his love causes protocols to be broken for your sake, it breaks the highest Guinness World Record ever; He goes above and beyond for you. I realized this a long time ago and it can happen for you too... just let him love you jealously and fight for you, that's all he asks. Will you let him?

WHO ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPRESS?

Penulis : Unknown on Sunday, September 22, 2013 | 9:49 AM

Sunday, September 22, 2013

It's sad that many people do not know the quality, greatness, uniqueness with which they are made. They constantly find themselves needing appraisal and confirmation from others to make them feel good or think they are good enough. It's more annoying that they feel less about themselves cos they're trying to measure up to someone's idea of who they are supposed to be. They try to make themselves good enough to be loved, appreciated or accepted by someone else. WHY? WHY? WHY?

Do you really know who you are? Do you know how beautiful you are? Do you know how valuable you are? You're exceptionally BEAUTIFUL and never let anyone tell you otherwise. Don't try to impress someone by depressing yourself...you're AMAZING, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE.

PRESS PLAY on the video below, I have a message for you.

WOULD YOU LET ME...SEE BENEATH YOUR BEAUTIFUL?

Penulis : Unknown on Friday, September 20, 2013 | 12:51 AM

Friday, September 20, 2013

You have been created, crafted, designed and fashioned beautifully and wonderfully; with a unique characteristic and a special inner beauty that no other human possesses except you. God doesn't make photocopies, so you're the only YOU that exists on planet earth. However, on earth there's a force greater than the force of gravity that has much effect on this inner beauty (no matter how we deny it) and it has  the ability to either pull you down or lift you up. It's the power of LOVE.  When I was younger, a friend once told me that "when someone is in love, a fool is born"; I never understood it till I got older. It's that force that connects you to another person in a way that you cannot even explain...most times words cannot express it cos it can only be expressed by your actions. When that force hits you... normal sense disappears (loll), little wonder they say love is blind.

Listening to the song "see beneath your beautiful" by Labrinth and Emeli Sande, I realized that many of us have built a protective covering around our heart - like soldiers guarding a border; more like bullet proof walls just to protect our hearts from any bullet from the blokes or chics. This could have been caused by heart-breaks, broken trusts, divorce, etc and then we choose to shut down our emotions and focus on career, family, success, business, projects, travelling. Somehow deep down, we believe that this will help take away the hurt or pain and gradually you get your groove back and turn on the perfection in you. But behind these walls is a little girl/boy that longs to show that inner beauty to someone who will nurture it and help that beauty glow even more.

It takes a lot to reveal your inner beauty to someone - trust, honesty, commitment, sacrifice etc so I really don't blame people who have protective walls cos they would have gone through some pain and probably want to take their time before launching into the deep again. The inner beauty God has deposited in us is to be appreciated, loved, nurtured by someone who understands the beauty that lies within you. Someone who will come into that garden and take care of it till it blooms. Take for example, a successful young entrepreneur who opens his heart to a lady; lets her in and bares himself open, showing his vulnerabilities and letting that little boy come out. And after all these, the lady sees him as a money machine, dupes him and is gone with the wind after 8 months. What hurts more is he even introduced her to his mum. I read an article on a blog yesterday about a young entrepreneur and the comments I saw below the post was hilarious. All the ladies wanted to know was if he was single or not-praying to God to bless them with a rich man like this dude. Someone asked a question - If he was not listed on Forbes Magazine and was a small business owner somewhere in a small town, will they be so interested in whether he was single or not?

There's a lot to be exposed beneath the perfection that we put up on the outside but it takes real love, an undying love to love beneath the perfect. This is a funny example but I'll use it - how many of us love to crack our chicken bone? Raise ya hands, don't be shyyyyyy. It's just something we love to do but when we wear that perfection, you even eat the chicken half when on dates. The same guy you went on a date with and forming not knowing how to eat chicken finally becomes your boyfriend and one day sees you struggling with chicken bone (the real you), he either decides he wants the all perfect fork & knife eating chic or the girl struggling with chicken bone.  Love is not about loving the perfect person, but loving the imperfect person perfectly - a heart that accepts you just the way you are and help you become a better person. We all want to be natural and simple with those we love; we want you to see the real vulnerable girl/boy but.... how many of us will stay when we finally see beneath the perfect??? It only takes true love to walk that mile, if you find someone with that heart....please let him or her see beneath your beautiful.

PS: Never let a broken heart take your chance for love away; there are still a few good men and good ladies out there. If grasses can grow out of concrete floors, love will find you anywhere you are...just believe.

PPS: Ladies, a man who wants to stay will never leave no matter how you push him away but a man who does not want to stay will never stay no matter what you do. So please, don't lose your value chasing someone who has no interest to see beneath your beautiful. You'll hurt yourself even more...

GUYS: Please beneath the make-up, Louis Vuitton bag, Christian Louboutin shoes, Peruvian hair, lace wig is a pretty little girl that wants to be loved for who she is without all these extras. When all the glamour is taken off, would you still look at her and tell her she's beautiful?

LADIES: Please men are not ATM machines, STOP making them feel they're not good enough if they don't make a certain number of zeros. Beneath those thick muscles, Salvatore Ferragamo wristwatch, Giorgio Armani suit, Kenneth Cole belt, clean cut shave, posrche ride is a pretty little boy that wants to be loved for who he is without all these extras. When all the ego is taken off, would you still look at him and be proud of who he is? Those extras may be there when the chase is on, but if he let's you see his inner beauty and you finally say YES...please and pleaaaase love him as though these extras were not there.

INCOMPLETE WITHOUT HIM...

Penulis : Unknown on Sunday, March 24, 2013 | 12:01 PM

Sunday, March 24, 2013

Beautifully and Wonderfully made for HIS glory
You are my bright and morning star
The air I breathe that's who you are
Your touch ignites me
Your smile excites me
You are in everything I do
I'm incomplete without you
I don't know what I'll  do
If I would...If I would loose you

Words alone are cannot explain the ignition and feelings that surge through my body while in His presence. His touch is so magical; his smile so exciting I want to keep looking at his face. Oh, and his words are as sweet as a honey comb. His big arms wrap me up in his warm embrace..I just wanna be there forever. What an ecstasy and sweet fellowship, I love him so much. But then, I wonder why he loves me the way He does; why He chose me from the crowd; why He fashioned me the way He did. In my imperfection, He saw a perfect heart; in my inability He is more than able; in the time of weakness He is always my strength, my ever present help, my all in all. What would I ever do without You... I love you Jesus, I'm so incomplete without you.

I just had to express how much I love God. For the past 7 days, I have been off social media - Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Blogging etc. I just wanted to get lost in Him and fine-tune my antenna to His frequency, to go deeper in my relationship with Him. And...WOW, it was and has been so exciting. Sometimes you need to take time off the things that take your attention and focus on God for clarity, focus, wisdom and directions. A place of solitude, worship, fasting and prayers. A place of LOVE.

Every moment of prayer is an investment in eternity and true romance of righteousness... Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Indeed, the place of prayer and worship is a sweet, loving, romantic experience. No one can ever love you  the way God does, there is no love greater than His. I just can't explain the feeling. So when you feel the world is crumbling on your shoulders and there's nowhere to hide, He's always there by your side; he wants to hold you tight and take your tears away. Through every challenge, trouble, worry, cares, whatever the need...just get into a sweet romance with God and experience spiritual ecstasy that turns situations around. Just focus your gaze on the "SON" and you won't see the shadows. I'm already seeing the results...I'll share them with you gradually as  the days go by.

I encourage you to listen to this song... I was moved to tears in worship, the chorus is written above. I couldn't find the video on YouTube so watch the full song here http://www.pastorchrisonline.org/channel/watch/cha3e8p/?videoID=vid59ab#

Have a beautiful week

WHILE YOU'RE WAITING...

Penulis : Unknown on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 | 5:18 PM

Wednesday, February 6, 2013

That still small voice kept ringing in my head, "just wait"... Not yet dear; just at the right time. I never questioned "when" but I just knew I was on the right path. Some people say you should follow your heart, but I think you should follow your inner man (your spirit), it leads your heart to the right place.

I walked into the Baker Street underground station after lectures during my masters program, the train arrived in 3 minutes. It was a Jubilee line to Stratford so I sat down waiting patiently for the final stop at Stratford as I couldn't wait to get home and entertain my rumbling stomach. Guess what, it seemed like the longest journey ever, I yawned and hissed at every stop; it looked like Stratford was outside London. I even considered switching to Central line cos it was faster but that will make my journey longer than it should have been. I looked around to see if I was the only one wishing the train could develop wings and fly, but I was mistaken. People had novels to read, magazines, bible (I was actually impressed with the Chinese guy, surprised?) etc. I figured it out, while I waited for the journey to come to an end, I needed to keep myself busy, I needed something else to focus on so that I won't get impatient. The next day, I took one of my favourite books "Maximising Your Potentials" by Myles Munroe and my highlighting pen. As soon as I got into the train, I started reading with rapt attention, highlighting key points and quotations; I was interrupted by  a lady who tapped me to say we had gotten to the last train stop...oops. How time flies right?

We have all been in situations where we had to wait, for time bus, train and...a life partner. The most common question is when will he/she come? JAMB question...hehehe. Ecclesiastes 3:11 says "He hath made all things beautiful in His time". Now you're asking when is this time? In the course of time I have seen that after a break-up from a relationship, most people rush into another relationship to heal the existing wounds. Some others allow the hurt to become a part of them which makes them bitter towards everything and everyone around them. You ask when is God's time whereas you cannot even learn to wait on Him for the right time and right one.

In the process of waiting, being idle will increase your impatience and make you consider taking a shorter route to your destination instead of waiting for God's perfect will. So what do you do while you wait for him/her? This is your route to self discovery, a time to discover who you really are, a time to develop yourself, a time to equip your mind, body & soul in preparation for the task ahead. This is a time to spend in prayers, a time to ask yourself what you really want in life, where you're going and how you want to get there. A time to set goals for your life, make plans to succeed, a time to serve God with the days of your youth (Ecclesisates 12:1), a time to improve on your personality, a time to unleash the potentials inside you. A time of solitude is not for you to cry over a guy/girl who walked away. NO, a thousand times NO. Yeah, you may feel sad that he/she walked away but do not dwell on it for too long. Some people come into your life for a purpose, some for a season and some for a life time; it's just how God made it to be. The one who will stay for a lifetime will never leave no matter how hard you push him. The truth is God knows the end from the beginning, He knows how your story will end, He knows when, where and what time yours will be. Jeremiah 29:11 says " For I know the plans I have towards you, plans of good and not of evil to give you an expected end"  and then Proverbs 23:18 goes on to say "For surely there's an end and the expectations of the righteous will not be cut off". You see, He knows you're expecting an end to all of this, he also has a plan for you and it will come to pass but you have to wait. So while you wait for him/her, just UNLEASH. There are treasures deposited inside you that the world needs to see/hear/feel. The truth is he may not find you if you're not busy doing something. Remember Ruth was busy in the fields when Boaz saw her for the first time (Study the book of Ruth). Sis, get busy with your life, find something you enjoy doing and take your mind off the wait. Focus your gaze on God and pray for this man/woman you've been waiting for; while you pray for him wicked and unreasonable men(male/female) will be taken off your path. The eyes of your understanding will be enlightened to differentiate the gardener from the hunter or scavenger. So sweetie, WAIT, GET BUSY. WORSHIP, SERVE, BUILD, DEVELOP AND PRAY....before you realize it, you'll get that prompting in your spirit saying "the time is now". God's appointed time.

I'm speaking from experience-I was broken but in my solitude I stayed with the Lord, discovered a lot about myself, grew physically, emotionally, spiritually; improved academically, spiritually; developed all round, worshipped, served & still serving God; making impact, became stronger than I ever thought I could be without taking note of the time and .... I'll share the full story one day.

To understand the gardener, the hunter and the scavenger, read my article "In Love With The Gardener" HERE

I was going to post this article specifically for those waiting on God for marriage but God wants to speak to someone who may have been waiting on Him for something, a child, a job, love, healing etc. I don't know how long it has taken but God is making a way for you, Just Wait. Please and please, Please again open this video below by Juanita Bynum. You'll be encouraged and strengthened in your spirit. Shut the devil up cos delay is not denial.

CELEBRATING A SUPER-STAR...Pastor Chris Oyakhilome

Penulis : Unknown on Thursday, December 6, 2012 | 5:07 PM

Thursday, December 6, 2012

Whenever I look at Pastor Chris, I imagine how heaven rejoiced on the birth of this wonderful man. Just by his birth ,many lives has been changed, I can BOLDLY say I am one of those who Pastor Chris has affected even before I joined Christ Embassy.  If you follow me on twitter or facebook, you must be conversant with the kinda posts I send; most of all the articles posted on this blog all came through inspiration from my wonderful pastor. My mentor, father, director, boss, super-star, champion, my tutor, my role model, a light to the world ... I can go on and on. There's just something about this man that if I start writing, I'm sure the word count for this post will be enough for a dissertation. He is not just a man but God's vision on a mission, I'm glad he said YES to God's call on his life and i'm grateful to God to be a part of that vision. Below are numerous things that have happened through this man:

1)INNER CITY MISSIONS:  An arm of the ministry that takes care of children, shelter, feed, educate and cater for all their needs. His motto says"Every child is your child"...He just has the heart of God.

2) REACH OUT CAMPAIGN: This happens in every country where there's a Christ Embassy church and what exactly is Reach Out? Independence day in every country is celebrated and this is an avenue where we give back to our nation and reach out to the citizens. Pastor has taught us not to ask what the government will do for us but we should ask what we can do for the government; a ma with the heart of giving.  For example in Nigeria, Reach out campaigns visit hospitals and donate ambulances, the things that the government and the corrupt leaders were supposed to do but embezzle the money, Pastor Chris started a vision that will take responsibility for this. I have attached a video of Reach Out Nigeria 2011 below, it'll inspire you. When you're a part of a vision this big, you're excited to know that you're participating in giving lives a meaning.

3) INTERCESSION: It all started in June 2010 when we started praying for the whole world every Monday, Wednesday and Friday by 12 pm and 10 pm. We pray for nations, for the sick, for children, families, name it....anything and everything.  I remember sometime last year we prayed specifically for kids and that day a child fell from a 3 storey building and nothing happened to her, not even a scratch. Yeah..miracles happen. Believe it. Pastor Chris is an intercessor, he has totally given of himself to be relevant to his generation. How will you not be proud to be associated with such a man.

Three things you should know about Pastor Chris....His love for God, His fellowship with the Holy-Spirit and His passion for the gospel.

He's a man of valour he is indeed, full of wisdom and knowledge. One look at him and you know that is a man after God's heart. There was a man send to the world, and his name was.....CHRIS OYAKHILOME. Under his tutelage, I have learnt how to pray effectively, I have learnt how to recreate my world; I've learnt how to anticipate evil; how to walk with God; how to work the word; that we're beautiful people from a beloved country; I've understood the 7 things the holy spirit will do for me and in me; I've learnt that I can live with none of these diseases; I've learnt to be a missionary christian; I now know that I've been Enthroned cos I have a goodly heritage in Christ Jesus. I know the power in the name of Jesus and have also learnt about yielding to the spirit. From his teachings I have the recipe for success; when you look at me you'll know that I play by a different set of rules cos I know how to take possession of what belongs to me. heheheee....if I don't stop I may just burst out with tongues. There's so much to say about my man of God, I love love love love infact I heart him. You want to know why? Go back to the top and start reading this article again and also read the verse below.

2nd Chronicles 20:20 - Believe in the Lord your God and you shall be established; believe and remain steadfast to His prophets and you shall prosper. (No be me talk am)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SIR, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.

DEALING WITH "TRUST" IN A RELATIONSHIP

Penulis : Unknown on Sunday, December 2, 2012 | 3:01 PM

Sunday, December 2, 2012

If grasses could spring up from a hard concrete cemented floor, then LOVE can find you anywhere; even in the weirdest of places.

To love and be loved in return is a beautiful thing; to know that someone somewhere is happy just because you are in his/her life is a pleasant feeling. Such moments when you're in the office and looking at your laptop; your colleagues will probably think you're busy not knowing that you're completely lost at the sight of the beauty on your screen saver. Love may be all things sweet and romantic but it's "hard work" to maintain it and only the strong and willing reap its fruits. Out of the 1,000,000,000,000,000 people in this world, you chose that one person to open your heart to; to share the deepest secrets with; to make a fool of yourself for; to trust your heart in his/her hands and accepting to go through thick and thin with that person. That's giving someone license to kill you and trusting that they won't...(I think i'll rather say PRAYING and hoping they won't). But in real terms; do you actually trust that person?

TRUST is one of the basic foundations of loving someone; that point when you choose to believe every word they say; you take their word as their bond and can vouch for this person with your life. There's a popular saying that "trust is like a glass, it takes ages to build but a second to get broken". To love someone is to trust them and without trust, love cannot grow but some people choose to stay in a relationship where they have to check his/her phone for text messages?  Why do you have to tag along with her to a girls night out? Hellooooo..it's "girls' night out" not boys' night out. Why do you set a trap for him/her hoping they fall into it? Why would you eavesdrop on his/her call? If you're guilty of these questions I've asked then you need to re-define your relationship. You may say Lynn, you don't understand. Yeah, clearly I don't; but what I do know is that the more you keep doing these things, the worse it get cos you will never be at rest when he/she walks out of the door to go somewhere without you. You panic when he's out with the guys, your heart skips when someone tells you they saw someone that looked like him in Ikoyi whereas he said he was going to Lekki (now you don't know what to believe). You're in a relationship but not happy; you find yourself arguing everyday about little matters (guys call it nagging) and that love you once cherished gradually diminishes. This was not the plan from the beginning right? OK, so what do we do?

Dealing with trust issues starts from your knees...the place of prayer. Secondly, cut out third parties (he said, she said, they said) you don't need to listen to what anybody says if you want to build trust. Hear from the horse's mouth before you conclude...the only third party should be God. As human beings, it is not possible to completely trust someone but you trust only through the ability of God. You trust that person by trusting God to keep him/her from falling; you constantly pray for them and speak positive words into their life. The bible says that "they that put their trust in God shall not be put to shame"; it is not by our power to control another human being. You can only pray and trust that God will keep them away from the things they shouldn't do; that's how you deal with trust issues. Most importantly, have a positive mind. Titus 1:15 (NIV) says "to the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure.In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted." In essence, if you're one who naturally has a negative/corrupt mind you'll find it difficult to trust people cos you'll never believe anything they say even when they're saying the truth. Pray about it.

Ladies, shouting at him and asking where he has been for the past 6 hours would only push him farther away (that's the nagging they complain about); monitoring his every move will give you heart attack (lolll)...let him be free as a bird, don't cage him. If you do, he'll look for every opportunity to seek freedom but if you let him go; he'll always want to be around you. Do your part as a lady and God will do the rest as long as you're living a trustworthy life. Don't pray for a trustworthy guy when you can't be trusted. Guys, do not tie her down to the house or change her wardrobe to only wear long skirts so that no other man can see her. I had a friend in university who's bf would get so angry even when she's in the study group just because there are guys in the group. So because you're in a relationship, she automatically becomes quarantined to every other male figure. Mba nu...guys don't do this. You have to pray for her too; some guys think its only the ladies who should pray. Nah bruv...if you love her, you have to go on your knees for her. It's easy to fall into temptations but with prayers, so many things are averted.

Love is not enough to sustain a relationship, to give the best of love you have to go through love himself - GOD. If you trust God, then trust him to keep the trust in your relationship. Only through God can you sustain trust cos human love is fickle, little challenges puts your love to test and not every relationship survives it. Learn to trust your partner today, build your relationship on a strong foundation and invite God to be your TRUST-FUND.

Have a lovely week

IN SEARCH OF MRS RIGHT....ARE YOU MR RIGHT?

Penulis : Unknown on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 | 6:31 AM

Wednesday, October 24, 2012

The other end of the line sounded dead for a second; at first I thought the call had ended. Then I looked at my phone and the minutes were still reading, it was 49:11 mins that I had spent on the phone with Eric. I said another “hello” just to be sure he was still there; he replied with a deep sigh…Lynda I’m still here but I just feel empty.
Yeah, there are times when guys feel empty too, feeling the need to have someone who loves them genuinely and not for a reason or a season. My conversation with Eric was deep and quite informative. Ok, I’ll give a brief profile of Eric. A Nigerian who has lived in London since he was 10 years old, at 28 already accomplished-good job, owns his own house in London, posh car. Dresses well, always in the gym (gals u know how the abs will be), speaks fluently, very intelligent but doesn’t go to church (I can tell cos I have known him for a while) and ….ok I’ll stop for now. So in every respect, he is an eligible bachelor. Agreed?
So since I met Eric, we’ve gradually grown from mere acquaintance to good friends and then somehow I became a confidant. Eric could tell me virtually anything and everything and the bulk of the story is usually girls…. (What else do guys talk about apart from money & sports)? On this particular day, he was whining about being in the house alone and needed company but didn’t want to call any of his female friends cos somehow they’ll end up in bed and … sure u already know how it ends. He went on to say that he wanted to get married and settle down; he was finally tired of FWB (Friends With Benefits), tired of going out every night and squander money on alcohol and gals, he was tired of spending different nights with different girls and also tired of coming back to an empty house. Aaaww, poor Eric. So while talking to him that day, he complained of how every girl wants one thing or the other. He asked me where/how he can find a wife (since I refused to marry him...loll). First I asked Eric, was “what kinda woman are you searching for”? He told me how he wanted a good girl, a faithful and trustworthy person who will be a good wife and companion for the rest of his life. The only thing I told him was to become the male version of that kinda girl and in no time he will find her. Suddenly, there was no more sound from him… the other end of the line sounded dead. Obviously, it was going to be difficult for him to become that person (judging from the Eric I know) but that was my honest & best answer for him.
Guys, I’ll ask you the same question, what kinda woman do you want to spend the rest of your life with? Are you that kinda man that she’ll want to stand by her side? There comes a point in a man’s life when he realizes that he needs to deviate from some certain characters and habits. The things that make you happy will no longer be found in those places. For instance you want a God-fearing wife and you spend every evening in a strip club or in a pub…sorry bruv, you ain’t gonna find her there cos the places you go to determine the kinda people you meet. You need a respectful woman whereas you have no respect for people, and you treat people arrogantly… sorry your character will drive her away even before you make a move. You want Agbani Darego and a sexy wife but your pot-belly is making it difficult for you to even button your shirt…PLS hit the gym.
Guys, it’s simple and easy…cut out those loose strings, patch up the broken vessel, work towards becoming a better person, live with a purpose, write down your vision and God will bring a help-meet to help you fulfill your purpose in life. It is not rocket science, you don’t have to be Mr. Perfect but the girl just needs to see your determination and focus and she will walk/work with you to help you achieve the rest.

I stumbled unto this article by a fellow blogger A Good Man Who Can Find? and guys, I think you'll learn a lot from this.

THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE

Penulis : Unknown on Sunday, September 16, 2012 | 12:28 PM

Sunday, September 16, 2012

Hi sweet-cakes....yes, you reading this. Welcome to a new week. Its been a while I posted an article on LynnVille; I've been pretty busy. Lots of ups and downs and all sorts of things coming up but I knew this day wouldn't pass by without me sending a shout to my beloved readers who have made this journey worth-while. So we're talking about green grasses today huh? I'll just go straight to the point.

So on this fateful Monday morning, I walked up to the coffee machine in the office to get my regular dose of hot chocolate to get me fired up for work. On getting there, I met an Indian colleague...let's call her Priya. And then we got talking, girls and lil' gossips and chats about the weekend. As the conversation was getting to an end, Priya said, "I love your new hair" and I said thanks. And the she's like, "you're so lucky you can decide to change your hair style whenever you want, unlike me I just have one thing to do to my hair; its either I pack it up or just let it down and that's all". While she was talking, I was like..O.M.G what's wrong with this chic??? As in, I was lost in the conversation. See me see wahala oh...does this girl know how much I want to have her hair? I quickly remembered how much my Indian human hair cost me...I was speechless. I just looked at her and smiled and said thanks for the compliments. In that split second, I just realised that it was not her fault co the grass is always greener on the other side. I'm sure she genuinely wants to have different hair styles and different looks but could not freestyle like me. On the other hand, many Africans will do anything to have their hair long, curly & silky like the Indians. Sometimes I say stuff like, if only God will ask me what I want to change on my body I'll say He should change my African hair to smooth, silky and wavy hair. How ungrateful I was? Ah...Baba I'm sorry.

So how many times have you wished you were like that your neighbour who had a big mansion and flashy cars? Do you know if he sleeps peacefully at night? It's always easy to want what somebody else has without even knowing what that person goes through because of that particular thing you've been eyeing. We need to appreciate the things that God has blessed us with, our family, friends, job, yourself as a person. Cos that thing about you or that thing you have which you take for granted, someone else is also wishing they had it. If there's anything you so desire, talk to God (not things like changing your black skin to white oh...) and in time God will provide it for you. Love yourself for who you are and don't change yourself for anything, there's a reason God made you the way you are. There's no other person as unique, pretty, handsome, awesome, intelligent and special as you. Keep that in mind this week.

Cheers sweeties....

I WAS HERE: WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY

Penulis : Unknown on Sunday, August 19, 2012 | 1:17 PM

Sunday, August 19, 2012

ONE DAY, ONE MESSAGE, ONE GOAL
TO INSPIRE PEOPLE ALL OVER THE WORLD
TO DO SOMETHING GOOD
NO MATTER HOW BIG OR SMALL
FOR SOMEONE ELSE

Today is the World Humanitarian Day, a time to recognize those who face danger and adversity in order to help others. The day was designated by the General Assembly to coincide with the anniversary of the 2003 bombing of the United Nations headquarters in Baghdad, Iraq, which killed 22 UN staff. Every day humanitarian aid workers help millions of people around the world, regardless of who they are and where they are. World Humanitarian Day is a global celebration of people helping people.

We are not just in this world to eat, drink, acquire degrees, get married, have kids, grow old, die and be buried. NO…there’s more to life than meets the eye. We need to make an impact, change a life, touch someone’s life positively and leave a mark in the sands of time. There are people who have been aligned in your path for you to reach. They may have dirty clothing with dirty hands and feet; they may not have the lovely scent from your cologne/perfume or speak posh/British English like you do. But they have been placed in your path so their lives could be better.  Don’t refuse to do that one thing that will put a smile on someone’s face. Let their lives be better because YOU WERE HERE. This reminds me of my first article on this blog, I’LL BE THERE….It will inspire you.

You may not be a fire-fighter, in the army, emergency rescue team or the ambulance services; but there is something you can do for someone out there so that tomorrow when the story is being told, you’ll raise your hand and say I WAS HERE.

Listen to the song I WAS HERE by Beyonce...i was moved to tears.
Have a lovely week ahead.

Happy Birthday Sweet Mum

Penulis : Unknown on Monday, August 13, 2012 | 7:09 AM

A popular saying is that God everything come down physically so he created mothers. The relationship between a mother and a child is very special and that is as good as truth. A mother means the world to a child, it is she who protects, nourishes, and bestows her child with love and care. It is she who sacrifices many things in life to give the best to her children. Mother's day is that special day that gives you the perfect opportunity to shower your mom with your love and affection. It gives you the opportunity to tell your mother how much she means to you and pamper her with generous gifts. However, you need not spend a fortune and buy expensive gifts for your mom. You can make her day special with beautiful quotes, poems, and loving words. Let her know how special her love for you is, and acknowledge all the pain and sacrifice she took to raise you the way you are. Thank her for her unconditional love, for forgiving you when you did something wrong, and held you when the world around condemned you. Thank her for being at your side when you needed her the most. Remember how she stayed awake at night to protect you when you used to fall sick. Recall all the good times you shared with your mom and tell her how you cherish every moment of your early days.

I love & cherish my mum...Happy Birthday. 😊😘

A Mother's Love

A Mother's love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

LOOK FOR THE GOOD IN OTHERS

Penulis : Unknown on Saturday, July 28, 2012 | 3:42 PM

Saturday, July 28, 2012

Hey dearies, hope y’all had a great weekend. I sure did cos I had been extremely busy during the week so I needed a cozy weekend with movies and ice-cream. For some reason I wasn’t feeling the Olympics ceremony; maybe cos I live in Stratford and the Olympic park is just 6mins walk from my house. Anyways, I’m not talking about the Olympics today but hope to give you some gists on the event, hopefully during the latter part of the game. So let's get to the topic for today.

What is the first thing you notice or look out for when you see someone? Their pretty face, hair-do/hair-cut, eyes, nose, ears, shoes? I have a friend who looks out for people’s dentition (loll, weird right?); another friend looks at the way you walk. Well, people are different and have different things they look out for when they see others but there’s gotta be more to someone than what you can see on the outside. Most times we never get the chance to really see people for who they are, we miss out on the beautiful part of that person because we have chosen to magnify the part of them that doesn’t seem perfect in our eyes.

I woke up this morning and in my usual manner, my Rhapsody of Realities devotional was the first thing I picked up. I flipped the pages till I got to Saturday, July 28th and the topic was “Look For The Good In Others”. This is what I read by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome…There are people who almost never see the good in others; they are known to always dwell on the shortcomings they perceive in other people. Even when others make good remarks about someone, they would most likely inject something negative into it. For instance, a negative-thinking person would possibly say, “Yes, her dress is beautiful, but she is overweight.” They would rather dwell on what they perceive as deficient in others than pay simple compliments even when deserved. What a wrong way to live. Those who act in this manner don’t realise that the negative attitudes they exhibit can only entrench them deeper in the mud of misery. Some people can’t see the good in others, especially because they can’t see the good in themselves; so they often criticise and pick on other people. We should dwell on the fine and good things in others. This is so important because observing and appreciating the good in others isn’t about making them happy; it’s about building a strong and positive character as you allow the outflow of good things from within you.  It’s about becoming the joyful, successful and prosperous man/woman that God has planned for you to be.

He rounded up by saying, “Always make conscious effort to appreciate others for who they are cos it’s the right thing to do. Even when you notice something wrong about others, be loving enough to point it out in a sincere manner. This is a good virtue we must cultivate”.

The message was just too good that I had to write almost everything here. So back to the question I asked in the beginning, what is the first thing you look out for in others? When you look at that boy/girl whose nose appears big in your eyes or who looks fat in your eyes….look for the good in that person and appreciate them for who they are. Everyone on earth was artistically formed and perfectly designed beautifully and wonderfully in God’s own image. In His eyes, you’re the most perfect human that ever existed. Choose to see the good in yourself and it will reflect in the way you see others…there’s more than meet the eyes so focus on the best part and magnify that part in others.

Have a beautiful week ahead.

ONE MOMENT OF PLEASURE...IS IT REALLY WORTH IT?

THE GUY
Tony: I thought about it for a second; No, I can’t.
I put my face down for a while just to erase the thought.
Yeah, I can control my mind and that’s exactly what I’ll do.

Eki:  Hi, I think I recognise you from somewhere; you were at the Thai restaurant in
Covent Garden for Sylvia’s birthday dinner.

Tony: Oh no!!! Not her………………………………..
I wanted to act like I did not remember her
It was too late  cos she remembered my name.
There was no hiding from this, but not again today (a
still small voice whispered in my head).

Eki was a beauty queen, the first sight of her was angelic, she was a goddess. I couldn’t help but lust after her; I knew it was lust cos I loved my fiancé and would never cheat on her. But Eki was irresistible and just wouldn’t stop, the way she danced and laughed was what drew me to her. I was supposed to be at the wedding party with my fiancé but she had to leave cos she had a professional exam the next day. In her words, “baby…ACCA is very important; it will give me a greater advantage to get big accounting jobs”.  I knew it was important so I had to let her go but she asked me to stay back and have fun with my friends. If only she stayed. I finally looked up at Eki and said hi (acting like I was trying to remember who she was); before I could complete the statement she flung herself into my arms and said “wow, Tony it’s you”, I didn’t know I’ll ever see you again. I knew the face was familiar but I needed to be sure it was you; that’s why I came closer.

Now my heart was pounding, I was being hunted by that wedding night and the things we (Eki and I) did. I could blame it all I want on alcohol but the fact still remains that I could have walked away when I had the chance to but I didn’t. Something told me to walk away but I couldn’t; the heart was strong but the flesh was willing and so………..I fell for her charms and now all I want to do is untie myself from her web. (My heart pounded faster). Tony is everything okay? Ye-yeahh, I stuttered. I took another look at her; I wanted to tell her that I was engaged and that she should forget what happened on the wedding night cos I was drunk. I had memorised the way I’ll say it to her; before I could utter a word she caught me off guard and planted a holy kiss on my lips. Immediately…..i was sprung once again and I heard her whisper…..what she doesn’t know will not hurt her. I looked at her again,….I know you have a fiancé but don’t worry this is our little secret. No one has to know. The thought of keeping things from Bukky pierced my soul, I allowed myself get drowned in this mess; if she finds out my life is over. What do I do, i love my fiance but can't stop???

THE LADY
‘Honey, snap back to reality’, Kris said as he shook me from behind and gave me a peck on the cheek. I quivered a lil bit cos I didn’t realise he was there while I was staring into thin air with my thoughts wandering miles away. He came over to stand in front of me, ‘I know you Jenny…there’s something on your mind, I want to hear it and please don’t say it’s nothing’. As usual, my response was ‘I’m fine sweetie, trust me on this one’. You know how I like to just look into the skies and watch the birds chirp and flap their wings (I hoped he wouldn’t press further). Kris smiled and looked right into my eyes, as though he was going to cast a spell on me to make me talk; I could sense he wasn’t giving up on this one till I said what the problem was. We’ve been friends from childhood and spent our teenage years together before we both left the country for our B.Sc & M.Sc. He could read my mind, he was my second conscience. Hhmmm but this one…I couldn’t tell him.

Kris and I bonded again when he moved from New York to London. He got a job here and decided to take it in order to be closer to his family. Our puppy love as kids gradually blossomed into a perfect relationship, the way I had always imagined it to be. He was everything I asked for, my knight in shining armour. One weekend Kris had to travel back to New York for his brother’s graduation, he was going to spend only 5 days and come back to London. I couldn’t wait for him to return….I even slept in his pajamas all night.
At 7pm, just 2days after he left, Kris called me and told me he had to help a friend who just came into town and was stranded as he lost his wallet in a transit flight so he could not pay for a hotel. Ok love, I love you…..and the call ended. Obi knocked at the door few minutes past 9pm. O.M.G!!! It was as though Denzel Washington just walked into my apartment. You must be Jenny, he said. My mouth was still open as I was in awe of the perfectly and artistically crafted image standing right in front of me. Oops…(my mind jogged back to my senses), yeah I am and you must be Obi. Welcome. I had to take him to the guest room and get him something to eat. I took extra time to make sure everything was perfect for him (why??? My heart was skipping miles). I was giving him the same treatment I will give Kris and this was not a good sign. Fast forward….I made it through that night with my dignity still intact. The second night, Oh God!!! His chest, those arms, the smile…what is wrong with me? I’m lusting after my fiancee's friend. Obi finished his meal and brought the plates to the kitchen, as he was leaving, we bumped into each other and that was how we started talking. The chat got deeper and deeper; our faces drew closer and closer and....the rest is history. My eyes opened after the deed was done, Obi saw the guilt in my eyes. He held my face up and said “Jenny, I saw the way you looked at me from the first day you opened that door, somehow I felt it too but you’re my friend’s fiancée. Just one thing…He doesn’t have to know".

Hhhmmmm........he/she doesn't have to know??? No matter how dark the night gets, the sun will still shine in the morning. One day, something will happen that will let the cat out of the bag. Hence my question........

Is it really worth it? To give up 80% for a pleasurable 20%.
Is it worth it? To give up a need for a want?
Is it worth giving up happiness with the woman/man who loves you for a one-stop-shop that will only last for moments?

Read the Lyrics of this song....makes real sense cos in the end it's all about the decisions we make. TO ACT ON THAT THOUGHT or NOT TO.

It all starts from that one thought. What is your opinion?
