We are thrilled to feature and announce a collaboration with Forerunners, a fashion magazine by Ines Congedi and Ylenia Labate. Both Designers and Fashion bloggers, they aspire to show you their fashion collections and trend observations through the web. They hope their fashion illustrations will be useful for designers and creative people who are looking for new and inspiring ideas. They will also collaborate with other Fashion Bloggers for their styles where they will be featured on their monthly Fashion Muse contest.

Miley wants to invite aspiring designers to submit their best graphic artwork* for a hoodie. One winner will have the incredible opportunity to have their artwork produced and featured on Miley Cyrus' newest merchandise item, produced by MoJo. 

The winner will receive a cash prize along with a specialized Facebook post and tweet to Miley's 26 million + fans. In addition, the winner, five runners-up and highest voted artist will have their winning submissions featured on mileycyrus.com for fellow fans to like, tag, share and comment on. 

   ARTWORK DESIGN   

Artwork may consist of graphic designs, photographs, paintings, illustrations, drawings, or collages.  All artwork must be original and submitted in high-res. 

• • Design must be designed to print on the back of the hoodie. Small logo to be printed in top left corner of the front of the hoodie.
  • Submissions must be designed on the template provided.

   MILEY CYRUS' CHOICE   

The winning design will receive a cash prize of $1,500. In addition, the winner will receive:

• A framed copy of their artwork

WOULD YOU ACCEPT THIS OFFER???

My people, how una dey??? So my PC at work decided to vex today (my colleague said I was too hot the system couldn’t cope)….Ok, I digress. I was almost getting to the final stage of the work I was handling and all of a sudden, my system just trips off without any sign. I quickly informed my team leader who got in touch with IT and they started sorting out the issue….guess what? I was the happiest employee of the day, why? Cos I was declared as non-productive due to system failure, meaning my daily target was automatically slashed more than 65%. Yippeeeee, no work from 2pm. JThat gave me the opportunity to play while the IT guys tried to get my system back on track. It was in this very moment I found The STYLIST magazine on my desk and I began to flip the pages. What I saw was too funny for me to share alone, hence the reason for this article.

It seems paying for higher education is a struggle no matter where you live (true), but a strip club in Windsor Ontario, Canada believes it has found a way to help female students with their fees. The owners of Leopard’s Lounge are offering to pay for any aspiring dancer’s tuition fees as long as they maintain a B+ average. Students who work at the club during term time can receive up to $1,700 for full or part-time classes at local colleges or the University of Windsor. Changes in Immigration laws have stripped the club of dancers so they’re hoping the education fees will encourage women to dance for diplomas. (As written in the magazine).

Mogbe!!! Infact I was in shock I had to consult Google to confirm for myself. At first I thought to myself, why send a young girl to study and not show her good morals. It’s like taking a pig from the mud and giving it a bath in the Jacuzzi…then few hours later you take the pig back to the pigsty. The study will improve her status in life as lady with a degree but being a stripper throughout the 4 years of study will definitely have an impact on her. I think it’s just wrong; after you study and want to apply for jobs….what exactly would you say if your interviewer happens to be one of your clients? What do you think?

Our feature textile artist is Amy Hillyard who is a 2012 printed textiles graduate from the University of East London. She is very passionate and highly creative artist where she produces high quality original designs. She uses a combination of hand drawn images, photography and Adobe Photoshop to recreate contemporary and colorful designs for the fashion and textiles industry.

She has won a few design competitions which were also featured on Fashion Vignette. Her most recent winning was with BetaFashion's August competition and inspiration "Heaven's Door" for her scarf design "sugar skulls" which will be available to purchase on Topshop.com and Betafashion.com. She was also named one of the four winners for the May competition and inspiration "Inception". 

Amy's other accomplishments include having several designs chosen to be represented by JRC Imports and has shown her designs at Indigo Premiere Vision Paris. She has a selection of designs in Pattern People’s e-book, Repeat After Me.
